Enrolment procedure

Academic year 2016-2017

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR LMD STUDENTS FOR GERMAN, SPANISH, ITALIAN, RUSSIAN, CHINESE AND FRENCH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE (not ENGLISH)

Certain scientific courses allow students to choose German, Spanish, Italian, Chinese or Russian as your compulsory language or as an UEO.

Students must inform the course secretary of the language you have chosen when you register on that course.

Once you have enrolled in your scientific subject, registration in the Languages Department is then necessary (Building. 336, east wing, 2nd and 3rd floor). You MUST come to register at the Languages Department as soon as you have enrolled in your scientific subject.

For all languages, enrolment is at the secretaries’ office of the Language Department (3rd floor, room 348).

In addition to this enrolment, students must also take a placement test to evaluate your level.

For German and Spanish, placement tests are OBLIGATORY.

Students who intend to start language lessons in the 2nd semester, must be tested in September.

It is not possible to start a beginner’s language course in the second semester.

In terms of evaluation, there is no final exam but continuous assessment only. Presence, participation are therefore of utmost importance.

Students can also prepare for exams organized by the Goethe-Institut and the Instituto Cervantes which fit into the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
